ReqTangle Terms of Service

1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to ReqTangle, an AI-assisted software requirements management platform provided by Ikizler AB (Organization Number: 5569388068, Hageby Allé 21 b, 141 69 Huddinge, Sweden).

 

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ReqTangle during our public beta phase. By creating an account, accessing the platform, or using any ReqTangle features, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

 

Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age or have the legal authority to enter into contracts on behalf of your organization. If you are accessing ReqTangle on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

 

Beta Status Notice: ReqTangle is currently in public beta testing. This means:

  • Features are experimental and may change without notice

  • The service may experience downtime, bugs, or data inconsistencies

  • We do not guarantee service availability or performance

  • You should not rely on ReqTangle for mission-critical projects at this stage
     

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use ReqTangle.

2. Service Description

ReqTangle is a SaaS platform that helps IT and product teams manage software requirements more efficiently. Our service includes:

  • Requirements creation, editing, and organization tools

  • Interactive dependency visualization graphs

  • AI-powered suggestions to improve requirement quality

  • Collaborative workflows for team-based requirement management

What ReqTangle Does
AI-Assisted Features

ReqTangle uses AI technology provided by Codicent Inside AB to power intelligent features such as requirement quality analysis, suggestion generation, and content enhancement. Important points about our AI functionality:

AI System Transparency (EU AI Act Article 13 & 52(1)): You are hereby informed that you are interacting with an AI-assisted system. Whenever content is generated or influenced by AI features, this will be clearly indicated in the user interface. The AI system uses probabilistic models and may produce outputs that are non-deterministic in nature.

  • Not Fully Autonomous: AI features assist human decision-making but do not replace it

  • Platform Provider: All AI processing is performed through the Codicent Inside AB platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure Sweden Central (100% EU data residency)

  • Recommendations Only: AI suggestions are non-binding recommendations. You maintain full control over your requirements and final decisions

  • No Training on Your Data: Your requirements data is never used to train AI models or shared with third parties

  • Risk Classification: ReqTangle's AI system is classified as general-purpose and is not considered high risk under EU AI Act Article 6(2)
     

ReqTangle operates on infrastructure provided by Codicent Inside AB, with all data processing occurring within the European Union.

Beta Limitations

During the beta phase, you should expect:

  • Occasional service interruptions and maintenance windows

  • Features that may be incomplete or change based on feedback

  • Possible bugs or unexpected behavior

  • No formal Service Level Agreement (SLA) or uptime guarantees Limited customer support (best-effort basis)


We strongly recommend maintaining your own backups of critical requirements data

3. User Rights & Responsibilities

As a beta user, you have the right to:

  • Access and use ReqTangle for your software requirements management needs

  • Export your data at any time in standard formats

  • Provide feedback to help improve the product

  • Terminate your account at any time Exercise your GDPR rights (see Section 7).

Your Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date

  • Maintain the security of your account credentials

  • Use ReqTangle only for lawful purposes

  • Respect the intellectual property rights of others

  • Not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code

  • Not use the service to store, process, or transmit harmful, illegal, or offensive content

  • Not use the service to process special categories of personal data under GDPR Article 9 (including data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data for unique identification, health data, or data concerning sex life or sexual orientation)

  • Not attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data

  • Not use automated tools to scrape or excessively access the service

Feedback & Beta Participation

While not mandatory, we encourage you to:

  • Report bugs and issues you encounter

  • Share suggestions for improvements

  • Participate in user research when invited

4. AI & Data Processing

AI Functionality

ReqTangle's AI features are powered by Codicent Inside AB's AI engine. When you use AI-assisted features:

  • Your requirement text is processed by Codicent Inside's AI platform

  • All processing occurs within Microsoft Azure Sweden Central (EU region)

  • Processing is temporary and solely for the purpose of generating suggestions

  • Your data is never used to train or improve AI models

  • No human review of your requirements data occurs without your explicit consent.

Legal Basis for AI Processing (GDPR): AI processing of your requirements data is conducted under:

  • Article 6(1)(b) — necessary for the performance of the contract (to provide AI-assisted features you request)

  • Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in improving service quality and functionality, subject to your rights and freedoms.

AI Limitations & Disclaimer

Important: AI-generated suggestions are assistive tools, not authoritative sources. You should always:

  • Review and validate all AI-generated content

  • Apply your own professional judgment and domain expertise

  • Verify critical information independently

  • Not rely solely on AI for safety-critical, regulatory, or legally binding requirements

  • Not use AI outputs to make legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions without independent human review and validation

 

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI suggestions. AI may produce incorrect, incomplete, or contextually inappropriate recommendations. AI outputs are generated using probabilistic models and may not be deterministic or reproduciblet.

Data Ownership & Processing

  • You Own Your Data: You retain full ownership of all requirements, project data, and content you create in

  • ReqTangle Processing Rights: By using ReqTangle, you grant us the necessary rights to process your data to deliver the service (e.g., storing, displaying, analyzing via AI)

  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your requirements data with third parties, except as required to operate the service (see Section 7)

  • EU Data Residency: All data is processed and stored within the European Union

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain all intellectual property rights to the requirements, project data, and other content you create or upload to ReqTangle ("Your Content").

 

By using ReqTangle, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Host, store, and process Your Content to provide the service

  • Display Your Content to you and authorized team members

  • Backup and replicate Your Content for service reliability

  • Process Your Content through AI features when you use them

 

This license terminates when you delete Your Content or close your account (subject to reasonable backup retention periods).

AI-Generated Content: Content generated or modified by AI features may include contributions from generative AI models. While you retain control over how you use such content, AI-generated outputs may not confer exclusive intellectual property rights, as they may be producible by the AI system for other users under similar conditions. You are responsible for reviewing and validating all AI-generated content before use in your projects.

Feedback License

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about ReqTangle ("Feedback"), you grant us an unlimited, perpetual, royalty-free license to use that Feedback to improve our products. We may incorporate insights from beta testing into product development without compensation or attribution.

 

Note: This does not apply to Your Content (requirements data), only to general feedback about the product itself.

ReqTangle's Property

ReqTangle and all associated software, user interfaces, logos, designs, and documentation are owned by Ikizler AB and our licensors. You receive no ownership rights—only a limited right to use the service as described in these Terms.

Codicent Inside AB retains all rights to the underlying platform infrastructure and AI technology.

6. Liability & Disclaimers

Beta Software "AS IS" Provision

ReqTangle is provided during beta testing on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Swedish law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose

  • Warranties of accuracy, reliability, or completeness

  • Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish law, Ikizler AB (ReqTangle) and our service providers (including Codicent Inside AB) shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities

  • Damages arising from service interruptions, bugs, or data loss

  • Damages arising from errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated suggestions

  • Damages arising from your reliance on beta software for critical purposes

 

Maximum Liability: In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid to ReqTangle in the 12 months preceding the claim (or 1,000 SEK if you paid nothing).

AI-Specific Disclaimers

We specifically disclaim liability for:

  • Errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate suggestions generated by AI features

  • Decisions you make based on AI recommendations

  • Consequences of implementing AI-suggested requirement changes

  • AI system performance, availability, or response quality
     

You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and implementing requirements in your projects.

Consumer Protection (EU)

This limitation of liability does not exclude or limit our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Gross negligence or willful misconduct

  • Any liability that cannot be excluded under Swedish or EU consumer protection law.

Beta Risk Acknowledgment

By using ReqTangle during beta, you explicitly acknowledge and accept the risks of:

  • Potential data loss or corruption

  • Service instability and unexpected behavior

  • Features changing or being removed without notice

  • Lack of formal support and SLA guarantees

We strongly recommend maintaining independent backups of all critical requirements data.

7. Data Protection & Privacy

GDPR Compliance

ReqTangle complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Swedish data protection law. Ikizler AB acts as the data controller for your account information and usage data.
 

Data Processing Infrastructure:

  • Processor: Codicent Inside AB processes your data on our behalf

  • Sub-processor: Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd (Azure infrastructure)

  • Location: All data is processed and stored in Microsoft Azure Sweden Central (EU region)

  • Certifications: Our infrastructure is ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2 certified

 

Privacy Governance: ReqTangle maintains a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) and Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) as required by GDPR Articles 30 and 35, and in accordance with guidance from the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
 

Beta User Communications: We may contact beta users to gather feedback, provide service updates, or share important information related to product improvements. This communication is conducted under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest in developing and improving ReqTangle, balanced against your privacy rights. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time through your account settings.

Your GDPR Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and obtain a copy (Art. 15)

  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data (Art. 16) Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") (Art. 17)

  • Restrict processing in certain circumstances (Art. 18)

  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format (Art. 20)

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)

  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)

Data Processing Changes (GDPR Article 13(3)): If we make changes to how we process your personal data that require updated consent or notification, we will inform you in accordance with GDPR requirements and provide you the opportunity to review and accept such changes before they take effect.

Beta Risk Acknowledgment

By using ReqTangle during beta, you explicitly acknowledge and accept the risks of:

8. Termination

Your Right to Terminate

You may terminate your ReqTangle account at any time by:

  • Using the account deletion function in your account settings, or

  • Contacting our support team at support@reqtangle.ai

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access to ReqTangle if:

  • You violate these Terms You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity

  • Your account has been inactive for more than 12 months

  • We discontinue the beta program or shut down the service

 

We will provide reasonable notice (typically 7 days) unless immediate termination is required for legal or security reasons.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to ReqTangle will be immediately revoked

  • You will have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted

  • After 30 days, all Your Content will be permanently deleted from our active systems

  • Encrypted backups may be retained for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes, after which they are automatically and permanently purged

  • Sections of these Terms that should reasonably survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 7, and 9) will continue to apply
     

Data Retention Period: The total maximum retention period for your data after account termination is 90 days, consistent with our privacy-by-design principles and GDPR Article 5(1)(e) (storage limitation).

No Refunds

ReqTangle beta is provided free or at a discounted rate. No refunds will be provided upon termination.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.

Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of ReqTangle shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Stockholm, Sweden.

EU Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you retain all rights granted by applicable EU consumer protection laws, including:

  • The right to bring disputes in your country of residence

  • The right to access alternative dispute resolution mechanisms

  • Protections that cannot be waived by contract

Dispute Resolution

If informal resolution fails, you may pursue mediation through a recognized Swedish mediation service or EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).

10. Changes to Terms

Right to Modify

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes to ReqTangle's features or functionality

  • Legal or regulatory requirements

  • Feedback from beta users

  • Transition from beta to general availability

Notice of Changes

When we make material changes to these Terms, we will:

  • Post the updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date

  • Notify you via email at least 7 days before the changes take effect

  • For significant changes, require you to affirmatively accept the new Terms before continuing to use ReqTangle

Acceptance of Changes

Your continued use of ReqTangle after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using ReqTangle and may terminate your account as described in Section 8.

  • You accept the risks and limitations of beta software

  • You understand that AI features provide suggestions, not authoritative decisions

  • You agree to comply with all applicable laws when using the service

  • You are responsible for maintaining backups of critical data
